Triumphant Unity: Chief Ministers Praise Operation Sindoor at NITI Aayog Meeting
In a remarkable display of national unity, Chief Ministers from across India convened at the 10th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog on May 24, 2025, to commend the success of Operation Sindoor. The operation, a decisive military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, involved precision strikes on nine terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Leaders unanimously lauded the valor of the armed forces and the resolute leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted the collective appreciation, stating that all Chief Ministers “unanimously and in one voice appreciated Operation Sindoor and congratulated the armed forces and the Prime Minister.”
Institutionalizing Civil Defence Preparedness
Prime Minister Modi emphasized that Operation Sindoor should not be viewed as a singular event but as a catalyst for systemic change. He urged states to institutionalize civil defence preparedness, modernize disaster response mechanisms, and integrate these strategies into governance structures to enhance resilience and coordinated action in times of crisis.
State Leaders Applaud Operation Sindoor
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav praised Operation Sindoor for showcasing India’s strength, unity, and technological capabilities. He emphasized that the mission significantly thwarted terrorism and reinforced the nation’s unstoppable progress.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu lauded the armed forces’ success and commended Prime Minister Modi’s decisive leadership during the crisis. He highlighted India’s resilience and self-reliance in challenging times.
Vision for a Developed India
The meeting, themed “Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat @2047,” focused on empowering states to collectively contribute toward making India a developed nation by 2047. Prime Minister Modi called on states to prepare cities for the future and build at least one tourist destination in each state that matches global standards.
Chief Ministers shared their development roadmaps aligned with this vision. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted the transformation of the Bastar region from being impacted by Maoist violence to becoming a national example of development, employment creation, and self-reliance.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the necessity of collective efforts to achieve the vision of a developed India, highlighting Assam’s proactive initiatives supported by the central government.
Embracing the ‘Team India’ Spirit
Prime Minister Modi appealed to the Centre and states to work as one united team to achieve India’s development goals. He stated, “We have to increase the speed of development. If the Centre and all the states come together and work together like Team India, no goal is impossible.”
The collective endorsement of Operation Sindoor and the shared commitment to national development underscore the strength of India’s federal structure and the unity among its leaders. As the nation moves forward, this collaborative spirit will be instrumental in achieving the ambitious goal of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.
