- Ongoing Vigilance: Security forces continue to implement stringent measures, including setting up numerous Nakas/Checkpoints across different districts in both hill and valley regions. These checkpoints are crucial for monitoring movement and preventing illegal activities. The police have also appealed to the public to remain vigilant against rumors and false information circulating on social media.
The Broader Impact of Manipur Security Operations:
The persistent efforts through these Manipur Security Operations are critical in mitigating the impact of ethnic violence that has plagued the state since May 2023. With over 260 lives lost and thousands displaced, every successful operation brings a glimmer of hope for a return to normalcy. The arrests of these active cadres disrupt the networks that fuel instability and criminal enterprises, including extortion, which heavily impacts the general public and government employees. The recovery of weapons further weakens these groups and prevents future acts of violence.
The dedication of the Manipur Police, Indian Army, Assam Rifles, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP in conducting these joint operations highlights a unified approach to tackle insurgency and criminal elements. These coordinated efforts are vital for maintaining peace and security, and fostering an environment where dialogue and development can thrive. The security forces’ unwavering commitment continues to be a cornerstone in Manipur’s journey towards lasting peace and stability.
