The Operation Unveils Major Tripura Drug Seizure
On Wednesday morning, July 16, 2025, a routine naka-checking operation by the police in the 41 Mile area of Atharomura Hills, under the Mungiakami Police Station in Khowai District, turned into a major bust. Police officers, during their vigilant check, intercepted a passenger auto-rickshaw bearing registration number TR01M3624. The vehicle was en route from Ambassa to Agartala.
Suspicion Leads to Discovery in Tripura Drug Seizure
What initially appeared to be a routine check quickly escalated when officers detected a strong medicinal odor emanating from the auto-rickshaw. This immediate red flag prompted the naka-checking team to alert higher authorities, including the Officer-in-Charge of Mungiakami Police Station and the Teliamura Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Pannalal Sen. Their swift response ensured that proper protocol was followed for a thorough investigation.
Joint Forces Secure the Tripura Drug Seizure
A combined team, comprising SDPO Pannalal Sen, the Mungiakami Police Station OC, and a Magistrate, promptly arrived at the scene. This coordinated effort allowed for a comprehensive search of the suspected vehicle. Their diligent search soon revealed a cleverly concealed secret chamber located beneath the driver’s seat. It was within this hidden compartment that the staggering quantity of Yaba tablets was discovered.
Arrests Made in Connection with Tripura Drug Seizure
Following the discovery of the illicit drugs, law enforcement immediately took action. The driver of the auto-rickshaw, identified as Bikash Deb, was apprehended on the spot. His accomplice, Suman Majumdar, was also arrested in connection with the large-scale Tripura drug seizure. Both individuals are now in police custody, facing serious charges related to drug trafficking.
Ongoing Investigation After Tripura Drug Seizure
SDPO Pannalal Sen confirmed the successful seizure of one lakh Yaba tablets and the subsequent arrests. He emphasized that the investigation is actively ongoing. Authorities are now focused on tracing the origin of this massive drug consignment and dismantling the wider network responsible for its distribution. This continuous effort aims to disrupt drug supply chains and bring all involved parties to justice, further strengthening the impact of the Tripura drug seizure.
The persistent vigilance of the Tripura Police is commendable, as operations like this play a vital role in safeguarding public health and safety from the devastating effects of drug abuse. This particular incident serves as a stern warning to those involved in illicit activities that law enforcement remains committed to eradicating drug-related crime.
