The Captain Williamson Sangma State University (CWSSU) in Meghalaya has achieved a significant milestone, setting a new precedent for academic development in the region. The university successfully conducted its inaugural Academic Council Meeting on July 11, 2025, at its main campus in Balalgre, Tura, marking a pivotal moment in its foundational journey. This includes the new Meghalaya University Syllabi that will guide the academic session. Furthermore, the Boards of Studies, constituted across various disciplines, received official ratification.

In a move set to broaden educational horizons, syllabi were approved for an impressive total of 15 postgraduate and 21 undergraduate disciplines. The breadth of subjects covered by the new Meghalaya University Syllabi is extensive, encompassing sciences, humanities, social sciences, commerce, and regional languages. Specifically, the approved subjects include:
