Operation Sindoor Coordination

PM Modi Praises Exceptional Operation Sindoor Coordination for Pakistan’s Surrender

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, continuing his cherished tradition of celebrating the festival of Diwali with India’s frontline personnel, addressed soldiers of the Indian Navy on Monday, October 20, 2025, from the deck of the magnificent indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant. Speaking off the coasts of Goa and Karwar, the Prime Minister delivered a powerful assertion, crediting the nation’s military success, specifically during ‘Op Sindoor,’ to the unparalleled synergy between the tri-services.

The core message from his address centered on how jointmanship and seamless integration among the Army, Navy, and Air Force were the decisive factors in achieving a swift and conclusive military victory.

The Decisive Factor: Operation Sindoor Coordination

The Prime Minister explicitly stated that the extraordinary synchronization witnessed on the ground, air, and sea was the key to victory, making the case for enhanced military integration.

  • A Historic Assertion on Surrender:
    • PM Modi emphatically asserted that the rapid surrender of Pakistan during ‘Operation Sindoor’ was not merely due to individual acts of bravery, but was a direct result of the meticulous and “tremendous coordination” achieved between India’s military wings.
    • He underscored that the effectiveness of the joint military strategy, known as the Operation Sindoor Coordination, was so overwhelming it left the adversary with no viable option but capitulation.
  • Tributes to the Tri-Services’ Skill and Bravery:
    • The Prime Minister meticulously detailed the unique contributions of each service, which, when combined, created an unstoppable force.
    • He highlighted the “fear created by the Indian Navy,” referencing their strategic dominance at sea which effectively cut off maritime supply and escape routes.
    • He then praised the “amazing skill displayed by the Indian Air Force,” noting the decisive aerial support and precision strikes that crippled the enemy’s operational capacity.
    • The “bravery of the Indian Army” was also acknowledged, recognizing the ground forces that finalized the capture and secured the victory through sheer grit and courage.
    • It was the collective impact of this comprehensive Operation Sindoor Coordination that secured the historic outcome.

INS Vikrant: A Symbol of Self-Reliance and Operation Sindoor Coordination

Beyond the military history lesson, PM Modi used the setting of the INS Vikrant to project a vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India), linking the vessel’s indigenous construction to the nation’s overall strategic strength.

  • An Emblem of Modern India’s Might:
    • The Prime Minister described INS Vikrant as a “towering symbol of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Made in India,” emphasizing that the indigenous (Swadeshi) carrier is a tangible reflection of India’s growing military and industrial prowess.
    • He said the ship, “tearing through the oceans,” stands as a testimony to 21st-century India’s “hard work, talent, impact and commitment.”
    • “Vikrant is huge, vast and panoramic. Vikrant is outstanding, Vikrant is also special,” he remarked, celebrating the domestic engineering marvel.
  • Technical Prowess and Indigenous Content:
    • The Prime Minister’s address provided context on the scale of the achievement, noting that the 262-meter-long carrier has a full displacement of close to 45,000 tonnes.
    • Built at an overall cost of nearly Rs. 20,000 Crores, the project boasts an overall indigenous content of 76 per cent, directly supporting the Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
    • The warship’s design includes a high degree of automation and is powered by four Gas Turbines totaling 88 MW of power, capable of a maximum speed of 28 Knots. Its capability to operate a diverse air wing, including MIG-29K fighter jets and various helicopters, showcases the high level of technical sophistication achieved in the spirit of Operation Sindoor Coordination principles applied to defense manufacturing.
  • India Joins Elite Group:
    • With the delivery of Vikrant, India has officially joined a select group of nations possessing the niche capability to indigenously design and build an Aircraft Carrier, further cementing the country’s independent defense posture, which is essential for effective Operation Sindoor Coordination.

Diwali Celebrations and Forward Vision

The ceremonial celebration also highlighted the Prime Minister’s connection with the armed forces, reinforcing the nation’s gratitude and commitment to its military personnel.

  • A Memorable Festival with the Navy:
    • PM Modi expressed his fortune in celebrating the holy festival of Diwali “among all you brave soldiers of the Navy,” describing the scene as “amazing” and “memorable.”
    • “Today, on one side, I have infinite horizons, infinite sky, and on the other side, I have this giant, INS Vikrant, embodying infinite powers,” he stated, drawing a parallel between the glow of the sun’s rays on the water and the Diwali lamps lit by the courageous soldiers.
  • Reinforcing Future Preparedness:
    • The Prime Minister’s focus on the success of the Operation Sindoor Coordination serves as a clear directive for the future of India’s defense strategy: seamless integration and joint operations are paramount.
    • His annual tradition of celebrating Diwali with the armed forces, whether on the border in Kutch or now on the high seas, consistently aims to boost the morale of the personnel and align national focus with military readiness. The acknowledgment of the successful Operation Sindoor Coordination highlights the operational template for future defense engagements.
