Punjab Police Launches Bulldozer Action Against Drug Smugglers in Amritsar, Illegal Properties Demolished
Amritsar, Punjab — May 22, 2025: In a strong message against organized crime, the Punjab Police on Wednesday carried out a bulldozer operation in Amritsar, demolishing illegal properties linked to two notorious drug smugglers. This crackdown is part of the ongoing anti-drug drive initiated by the state government to curb the growing menace of narcotics in Punjab.
The illegal structures, which included commercial and residential properties, were razed by law enforcement authorities following due legal procedures. According to officials, the properties were constructed without proper authorization and were allegedly funded through proceeds from drug trafficking.
Senior police officials confirmed that the action targeted high-profile smugglers with a history of involvement in cross-border drug operations. “This is a clear warning to those involved in the drug trade that illegal activities will not only lead to arrest but also result in the seizure and demolition of assets,” said a Punjab Police spokesperson.
The bulldozer action is being widely seen as a strategic move to dismantle the economic foundations of drug syndicates operating in the region. Local residents welcomed the police action, calling it a bold step toward restoring law and order in the area.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has reiterated the state’s commitment to eradicating drug abuse and punishing those responsible for spreading addiction in the community. The administration has pledged to intensify surveillance and continue similar actions across other districts in the state.
This operation underscores the Punjab Police’s zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and sends a strong signal to those involved in illegal activities that the rule of law will prevail.
