citizen-friendly infrastructure

Agartala, Tripura – June 13, 2025:
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha reaffirmed the state government’s unwavering commitment to advancing citizen-friendly infrastructure as a top developmental priority. Speaking at a public address during an inspection of ongoing infrastructure projects, the CM stated that the government’s agenda is centered on the well-being and convenience of every citizen.

Government’s Vision Rooted in People-Centric Growth

While addressing local officials and citizens, Dr. Saha said that infrastructure should not only be functional but also people-oriented. “Every bridge we build, every road we repair, and every civic amenity we introduce must serve the people efficiently. We are working tirelessly to create citizen-friendly infrastructure that elevates quality of life across both rural and urban areas,” he added.

He emphasized that infrastructure is not merely about concrete and steel but about creating access, inclusion, and opportunities for all. This people-first approach is being embedded in every planning and implementation stage across departments.

Urban Development Gets a New Boost

In urban centers like Agartala, the government has initiated smart city upgrades with a special focus on traffic management, public transport improvement, green energy integration, and sanitation reforms. The CM highlighted several road expansion projects, smart lighting systems, and the introduction of e-mobility solutions as key achievements under the citizen-focused approach.

“Urban infrastructure is evolving with a purpose. By integrating technology and sustainability, we aim to ensure that our citizen-friendly infrastructure leads to better daily experiences for the people of Tripura,” he stated.

Rural Development Is Equally Central

Acknowledging the critical needs of rural populations, the CM also announced the rollout of rural road connectivity projects, the modernization of health centers, and the development of educational infrastructure in remote villages.

“True development is when no village is left behind. Citizen-friendly infrastructure must reach the last mile, ensuring that every family, no matter how remote, has access to essential services,” said Dr. Saha.

These rural initiatives are being supported under both state-funded programs and centrally sponsored schemes, with transparency and time-bound execution being the core principles.

Community Engagement and Transparency

The Chief Minister also underscored the importance of community involvement in infrastructure projects. Citizens are being encouraged to participate through feedback systems, ward-level meetings, and monitoring committees.

“Inclusive planning leads to sustainable outcomes. Our citizens are the best judges of what they need. That’s why their voices are being actively incorporated into our infrastructure policies,” he noted.

This transparency, combined with strong governance, is positioning Tripura as a model state for people-centric development.

Economic Growth Through Infrastructure

Highlighting the economic impact of infrastructure, Dr. Saha mentioned that investments in citizen-friendly infrastructure are creating jobs, boosting local businesses, and attracting new investments. Improved connectivity is also enabling better access to markets for farmers and entrepreneurs.

The CM concluded with a call for collective action and support from all sectors. “A better Tripura is not just our government’s dream—it is our shared responsibility. We will continue to put citizens first and shape infrastructure that reflects their needs and aspirations.”
