Recent reports from Agartala Smart City Limited (ASCL) highlight the successful implementation of 65 projects, which are redefining urban living for its residents. The chief executive of ASCL, Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, recently detailed the extensive progress made, showcasing a commitment to addressing public needs and fostering sustainable growth. • Integrated Command and Control CentreAt the heart of the modern infrastructure lies the Integrated Command & Control Centre (ICCC). This centralized hub is a pivotal component of the Agartala Smart City projects, offering comprehensive surveillance and management. It features a 24/7 CCTV surveillance system, enabling real-time monitoring to enhance public safety. The ICCC also includes an Intelligent Traffic Management System, designed to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion. A critical part of the ICCC’s function is a flood management system, which provides early warnings and coordinates responses to mitigate the impact of heavy rainfall, a common challenge in the region.
• Water Management and SanitationSustainable water management is a cornerstone of the Agartala Smart City projects. ASCL has successfully made one Sewage Treatment Plant operational, with five more currently under construction, aiming to improve sanitation across the city. To ensure access to clean and affordable drinking water, Water ATMs have been strategically installed, providing a convenient solution for residents. Additionally, the ASCL has undertaken crucial work to restore and rejuvenate key water bodies like Ranirpukur and Chatrasagar, transforming them into vibrant recreational spaces for the community. • Cultural Heritage and TourismThe Agartala Smart City projects also prioritize the preservation of the city’s rich cultural heritage. Significant work has been done on the Ujjayanta Palace, a historical landmark, to restore its grandeur and ensure it remains a major tourist attraction. The revitalization of MBB College, a prominent educational institution, has further contributed to the city’s cultural and academic landscape.
