Agartala, July 24, 2025 – The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) has announced a significant and encouraging improvement in the overall pass rates for both secondary (Madhyamik) and higher secondary examinations. This positive shift is largely attributed to the impactful ‘Bachar Bachao’ (year-saving) exams, offering a crucial second chance to students.   • Overall Improvement: The ‘Bachar Bachao’ exams have demonstrably contributed to a notable rise in the final TBSE pass rates for both Madhyamik and Higher Secondary levels.
  • Madhyamik Success:
    • Initial pass percentage for Madhyamik was 86.53%.
    • After revaluation, this marginally increased to 86.58%.
    • Following the ‘Bachar Bachao’ exam, 1,757 additional students passed, bringing the final pass percentage to an impressive 92.51%.
    • Out of 3,155 eligible students post-revaluation, 2,772 appeared for the ‘Bachar Bachao’ exam, with 1,757 successfully clearing it.
  • Higher Secondary Gains:
    • Initially, the Higher Secondary pass rate stood at 79.29%.
    • After revaluation, it slightly rose to 79.32%.
    • With the inclusion of 1,919 successful candidates from the ‘Bachar Bachao’ exam, the final TBSE pass rates for Higher Secondary reached 88.24%.
    • A total of 2,995 students were eligible for the ‘Bachar Bachao’ exam after revaluation, and 2,710 appeared, achieving a 70.81% pass rate in this specific examination.
