Sudhangshu Das Conducts Surprise Visit to Veterinary

Tripura’s Animal Resource Development and Fisheries minister Sudhangshu Das made an unannounced visit to the College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry at R.K. Nagar on Saturday to assess the functioning of the veterinary hospital. He was accompanied by MLA Ratan Chakraborty, ARDD Director Neeraj Kr. Chanchal and other departmental officials.

During the inspection, Minister Das underscored the critical role the hospital plays in providing healthcare for livestock and pets in the region. “Thousands of people depend on this institution for the treatment of their cows, goats, and dogs. It is vital that our veterinary professionals offer full and compassionate care,” he told reporters.

Expressing general satisfaction with the hospital’s operations, the Minister noted that most systems were functioning well. However, he acknowledged certain shortcomings and assured that immediate steps would be taken to resolve them.

Das also stressed the importance of modernizing veterinary services. “Upgraded equipment is essential to enhance the quality of treatment provided here,” he said, urging the hospital authorities to submit a proposal for necessary technological enhancements.
