Tripura: Two Arrested with Heroin, Cash in Damcherra Anti-Drug Operation

Agartala, June 07, 2025: In a fresh success in the ongoing crackdown on narcotics, Damcherra Police under North Tripura district arrested two drug traffickers and seized 12 grams of heroin along with Rs 6,000 in cash during a targeted operation.

According to police sources, the operation was launched based on a confidential tip-off about an attempt to transport and sell drugs using a motorcycle. Acting on the information, Officer-in-Charge Sanjay Majumdar in coordination with the Panisagar Subdivision Administration conducted a swift raid along the Damcherra-Panisagar road.

During the search, police officials recovered the contraband heroin and cash from the suspects. Both individuals were taken into custody on the spot. A case has been registered against them under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway.
