Scheduled to be held from May 29 to June 12, the campaign aims to connect with over 16,000 farmers across 108 villages in the district.

Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan to Cover 108 Villages in Wokha
The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan is a nation-wide initiative designed to bring technological and knowledge-based solutions directly to the farmers’ doorstep. In Wokha, this campaign is set to span across 12 days and will involve visits to 108 remote and rural villages.
During the coordination meeting, DC Vineet Kumar emphasized the importance of community involvement and inter-departmental cooperation to achieve the goals of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan. “This is not just a campaign, it’s a movement to uplift our farming community with the latest agricultural advancements,” he stated.
Three Expert Teams to Reach Nine Villages Daily
To implement the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan effectively, the district administration has formed three specialized teams. Each team will comprise an agricultural scientist, local agricultural officers, and support staff. These teams are scheduled to visit nine villages per day, conducting awareness programs, demonstrations, and interactive sessions with farmers.
The inclusion of agricultural scientists in each team ensures that farmers receive expert guidance on modern techniques, pest management, irrigation practices, and sustainable farming methods.
Expected to Impact Over 16,000 Farmers
One of the primary goals of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan in Wokha is to reach more than 16,000 farmers. The administration has mapped out routes and schedules to maximize coverage and effectiveness.
Local leaders, village councils, and farmer groups have also been informed and encouraged to participate in large numbers. “We are hopeful that the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan will bring tangible improvements in farm productivity and farmer awareness,” added a senior official from the Agriculture Department.
Strengthening Rural Agriculture Through Coordination
This campaign marks a strong collaborative effort between various governmental departments, agricultural institutions, and grassroots stakeholders. The focus of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan is not just on dissemination of information but on creating a sustainable model of agricultural development.
The Wokha administration is also leveraging digital tools to track progress and gather feedback from each village. This real-time monitoring will help in assessing the immediate impact and planning follow-up actions after the campaign ends.
A Step Towards Self-Reliance in Agriculture
The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan aligns with the larger vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India), aiming to empower farmers with knowledge and tools that foster independence and innovation. By bringing science closer to soil, the campaign seeks to build a resilient agricultural ecosystem in rural Nagaland.
Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar concluded the meeting with a call for wholehearted participation and cooperation from all sectors. “With the right planning and execution, the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan can become a turning point for the farming community in Wokha,” he said.
